National Coalition for the Homeless

It is amazing how past experiences and individuals we meet inspire us and shape our life.

Unfortunately, my husband's father died when he was only seven years old (on his birthday). Shortly after my father-in-law's death my mother-in-law suffered severe depression and was unable to properly care for her cherished youngest child. Instantly, my husband was trusted across the country to live with his sister. To this day my husband is grateful that his sister willingly accepted the responsibility of raising a child even though she herself just entered adulthood two years prior. Balancing a family, school, working and managing a household soon became overwhelming for my sister-in-law so like most young adults she rebelled under the pressures of being forced to grow up to quickly. This not only affected her life but also that of my husband's. As a result during periods of his life my husband experienced homelessness which is the inspiration behind my newest community partnership. I would never want anyone else to experience not having a place to lay their head or call "home" so it is one of my missions to help eradicate homelessness.

Honey this one is dedicated to you!
