This past Saturday, we celebrated Vanessa's 6th birthday Disney Princess style. Family, friends and her classmates all gather in Clinton, Maryland at my mother's house to partake in good old fashion fun. What was most amazing is that we transformed the party room into a princess dreamworld with characters and memoriabilia everywhere. To continue the disney theme we played Disney Princess and Cars bingo, built candy jewelry, played place the princess in her castle and colored our favorite Disney Princess pictures all while having official Disney soundtracks playing.
Also my sister served as the official face painting artistan. The children loved the designs she placed on their faces. Vanessa's cousin Deonta asked to look like Spiderman and low and behold after my sister finished he was an instant replica of the super hero.
It was very obvious that everyone attending the party knew Vanessa well because all of her presents were perfect and fit her personality exactly.
To close out the party we cut Vanessa's pink and white princess cake which was served with Vanilla ice cream. It was so YUMMY. Then we had the children attempt to shatter the pinata. The lucky person to do this was our very first friend from Washington Yu Ying...Christian. Next each child toasted Vanessa with sparkling cider from authentic champagne glasses.
I must say everyone had a great time but the best part was when Vanessa said "my party was wonderful. I loved my party." I could not have felt happier than that moment knowing that my child enjoyed herself and the celebration we planned for her.
