Independence day has been my favorite holiday (even before Christmas) since arriving to the United States.
Our family tradition is to spend the day (yes 12 plus hours) at Buddy Attick Park in Greenbelt, MD. While there we cook, eat, play and just have a good time. This year was especially nice since the family also included cousins which built the feeling of camaraderie.
The girls absolutely loved the fireworks. The extremely large ones that dropped low were their favorites. Seeing broad grins on our daughter's faces it what makes being a parent great. Chance and I are already making plans for next year. Maybe our family will be five instead of 4 :)
